It’s always fun to seen old friends on TV—and when one of them is a former LA designer, all the better
A few years ago, then-LA-based designer Alessandro Tomassetti left the US on a world tour with his partner Alon Rosenfeld searching for the perfect place to live.
Alessandro is the designer of men’s line Filius and owned the All Purpose store on South Flores just off West Third Street in LA.
After traveling the globe, the two settled in Barcelona and I saw them in their new city earlier this year when I was traveling in the area. They were just about to film an episode of “House Hunters International” and I got the inside scoop on the House Hunters process (I’ll never tell, but if you Google “secrets of House Hunters” you’ll find several people who will).
The episode is now on YouTube—and it’s great fun to see the two adapting to their beautiful new home.
But that’s not all Alessandro and Alon are up to these days. They moved because Alessandro could not get a green card—or legally marry his longtime partner. They have filmed the journey for a documentary they’re working on called ‘Involuntary Departure.”
There’s more information about the project here—including several supercute video clips of the two lipsyncing to pop songs, including their goodbye to LA, which features lots of Angelenos and local sights.
And there’s more–Alessandro and Alon are developing iPhone apps—including InstaGranny and, just in time for Christmas,SexySanta. Both are available at iTunes.
