Cristiano Ronaldo, the Portuguese soccer star who plays for Real Madrid, has struck a deal with Danish firm JBS Textile Group to design a line of underwear.

Targeting “young people” who are looking for “the latest trends,”Ronaldo’s collection will also include socks. “It’s important for JBS that the people we work with represent our company’s values. Who better to represent our unsurpassed quality than one of the best soccer players in the world?” JBS Textile Group owner Claus Bjerg Sorensen said. JBS Textile also produces a collection for Danish tennis player Caroline Wozniacki.

Last year, Ronaldo was named one of People magazine’s Sexiest Athletes on the Field for 2012. And as the face of Armani Underwear and Armani Jeans, he’s showed he knows how to show off a pair of briefs.

Soccer stars apparently make excellent underwear models. David Beckham showed off his tattoos and washboard abs in last year’s traffic-stopping campaign for H&M Underwear.
