Black Design Collective Honors Costume Designer Ruth Carter at Launch Event at FIDM

The Black Design Collective, a networking and mentorship organization based in Beverly Grove, gave away a $10,000 scholarship during an April 13 gala at the Fashion Institute of Design & Merchandising in downtown. A packed crowd turned out to honor Ruth Carter, the Academy Award-winning costume designer for “Black Panther.” Carter’s costumes were among those on display at the FIDM Museum’s 27th Annual Art of Motion Picture Costume Design exhibit.
